| Each soldering iron in the “W” series has a range of different tip shapes |
| and configurations to meet a particular task. To achieve optimal soldering |
| results, each iron in the “W” series is equipped with a Weller “Longlife”-tip. |
| Weller “Longlife”-tips are made of pure copper and galvanically plated |
| to extend the lifetime of the tip. The non-wettable part of a “Longlife” tip is |
| plated with nickel for protection against corrosion and then chromium |
| plated to achieve non-wettability. The wettable part of the tip is tin covered. |
